Our story

Artsy began with a single kiln, a long table and the belief that everyday objects deserve care.

Made slowly, in small batches

Every piece we sell is made in limited runs by a small group of makers we know by name. Slip-cast ceramics are trimmed by hand, candles are poured in batches of forty, and textiles are woven on handlooms in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Small batches mean gentle variations — a thumbprint in a glaze, a slub in the weave. We think of those as signatures, not flaws.

Materials we choose

Stoneware and porcelain, food-safe glazes, natural soy and coconut wax, cotton and linen from mills we've visited. We avoid plastic in the product and in the box: orders ship in recycled cartons with paper padding and no plastic tape.

The people behind it

We're a team of eleven working out of a studio in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Half of us are at the wheel or the loom; the rest pack orders, answer emails and photograph the work. If you write to us, a person on that team replies.

Fair, honest pricing

Our makers are paid per piece at rates agreed with them, not per hour. We price to cover that properly, keep our margins modest, and skip the permanent-sale theatre — when we say something is discounted, it genuinely is.
